Hello everybody! Happy Friday, keep pushing and the weekend will be here asap! I have taken a few days off from going to the gym this week because i’ve been visiting the beach a lot, which has left me with a sunburn, dehydration, and lots of additional soreness (i went on a few long walks in the sand).
So today is my first day back to the gym in a little while. Since i’m feeling fresh, I’m going to focus on lifting heavy weights today. Below you’ll find my workout and some songs i listened to during it. Enjoy!
• I started today’s session with the treadmill. I walked for 20 minutes on a slowly increasing incline to get my muscles moving and heart pumping.
• Next, i walked over to workout on the leg press machine, which is one of my favorite lifts to do at the gym. I performed 4 sets of 10, and each time i lifted i added extra weight to the platform. Form- make sure your knees aren’t caving in as you push the platform up, and slowly bring it back down to a 90 degree leg position.
• Next, i walked over to the glute press machine (description below). I am totally in love with this new workout, it reminds me of my track and field days because you must focus on explosion to get the best out of the workout. Plus it’s individual leg training. I did 4 sets of 10 presses on each leg.
• Finally i walked over to another machine that i haven’t ever seen until i started going to the Barranca location of LA Fitness. The workout that you do on it is called torso rotation (description below).
